Look at how successful Crawford has been? Top 3 P4P above fighters with better resumes than him, #2 at 147 above welterweights with better wins than him at 147, 3 weight champion. Praise all over the place by media and fans. 0 good wins at 147. Last good win was at 140, 5 years ago vs Postol. That's all it takes for the media/journalists to rank you at the top. Biggest names he has fought are Khan and Brook at 147, who were not ranked in the top 10 at 147.

Mayweather figures he can do the same with Gervonta Davis. Using the Arum formula will catapult you into top 3, then why not? As a promoter, why not? Wouldn't you do the same as a promoter?

It sucks for fans for sure, I have no desire in following Crawford's career. I will have no desire in following Tank's career if he's only fighting lower tier opponents. But for the promoter and the fighter themselves, it's more money, more praise, more popularity.

What fighter can you say right now, fights the best and is rewarded with high rankings, high praise? Canelo is #1 P4P because the media can't deny it. But they do it begrudgingly.

GGG stopped getting massive praise as soon as he stepped up. He was a killer when he was fighting guys like Geale, Lemiuex, Rubio, Wade, Macklin, etc. As soon as he stepped up, journalists hype of him died down. Even though he was still a good fighter and just fighting better opponents.

Canelo has been fighting top opponents since about 21 years old, during that time, fans and media have largely hated him. Even though all he does is fight the best in the weight class. If he was 59-0 with 59 KO's vs lower tier fighters, fringe contenders, he would have been praised to death by the media and fans.

Lomachenko was ranked top 2 P4P, many had him #1. P4P is an imaginary list, supposedly showing who are the best 10 fighters if everyone was the same weight class. Lomachenko lost one time, and was dropped from #2 to #9. Even though he is just fighting the best in his weight class that is available to him. Crawford, Estrada, Usyk, Spence do not have better wins or a better career than Lomachenko in the last 5 years. Estrada was given a gift decision vs Gonzalez in the rematch. Usyk looked like ass vs a journeyman in his last fight.

From 2017-2021, Lomachenko has wins over 6 top 10 fighters. In the same time frame, Spence has 3, Crawford has 4, Taylor 4, Estrada 4, Inoue 5, and Usyk 5. Yet all of them are ranked above Lomachenko P4P. The only fighter who can match Lomachenko in top 10 wins in the same timeframe is Canelo.

Lomachenko was punished for losing to Lopez. Yet Usyk stays in place for beating Chisora and Witherspoon, two journeymen with a combined 12 losses between them. Estrada stays in place with a a gift decision over Gonzalez. Crawford stays at top 3 by doing fck all. Spence comes back and beats Danny Garcia, who has 0 wins over top 10 welterweights.

The top 10 P4P list really makes no sense. It should really be called the Knee-Jerk Top 10 P4P list. Ranking fighters based on senseless knee-jerk reactions.
