The more fights Lomachenko gets at 135, the more accustomed his body will be at 135 thus improving his chances against Teo. If I'm Loma's management/team, I'm keeping Loma active immediately so that he'll be stronger at that weight. Loma shouldn't wait on Lopez vs his mandatory challenger, he needs to take as many fights right now, asap!
So Teofimo-Loma II is next

Loma looked good, strong yesterday but hey, it couldn't hurt to get a couple of more fights under his belt at that weight. I'd like to see Loma fight Haney for the Wbc title so the winner can fight Teo for all the Gold.Comment

teo is a motor mouth and very disrespectful but hes good for a big event i think, u have to hand it to him too, he went for the top dog loma while still a very young man himself, he did exactly what he said he would do, scorecards were whack tho which was odd i thought, loma didnt get any protection as the belts holders that night, i mean ive seen fights like that go easily other fighters way, i think arum shafted loma possibly with those cardsComment

Yea,Lopez Sr could've just been saving face last night with his remarks as he knows it's a rematch a lot of us are calling for but at the same time he knows it the biggest fight financially for them as well.
That segment before the Nakatani fight should have left no doubt as to whether Loma had an injured right shoulder or not going into the Lopez fight. Clearly he did and anyone with 2 eyeballs saw that it was effecting lomas game plan form the get go. Great fight that definitely deserves another go around imo.Comment

For the 100th time............Loma had a bum shoulder in that fight. He had surgery right after. Do you even follow boxing ?????? loma.jpgLoma lost the first fight against Lopez. . His reluctance to engage was his undoing. It was a poor decision on his part. When he got into the fight he did well but lost the last round badly. When he fought Salido he allowed Salido to get away with numerous low blows without retaliating. Yeah it's illegal but you have to show your opponent that he can't take advantage of you and bully you. I really question his judgement in close fights.Comment

While I believe Lomachenko had an injured shoulder which worsened in the fight and a rematch would likely look different; this was a known issue already. Lomachenko’s father asked him to drop out of the fight. They knew about the shoulder 6 weeks before fight night. He trained through it and hurt it further in round 2 vs Lopez.

Lomachenko maybe should have not played the “hero with an injury” card and listened to his camp/father. He felt so confident in beating Lopez with an injured shoulder, that he went along with the fight. He simply underestimated his injury and overlooked that Lopez could beat him with the injury.
This all falls back on Lomachenko. It is not Lomachenko’s camp/father’s fault, it’s not Lopez fault, it’s not Arum’s fault. It’s only the fault of Lomachenko. Lomachenko’s camp advised him the right way: drop out and heal. Many fighters do it. Injuries are part of boxing. No, you do not train/fight through them.
No responsible, competent physician on Earth would advise Lomachenko to fight through his hurt shoulder. Maybe Lomachenko was reading reddit’s BroScience comments in r/fitness and decided it was a great idea. If you get hurt, you stop, heal and don’t stress your injury. Lomachenko’s people told him to not go forward with it. It was common sense advice. He was stubborn and took an L for it. Mayweather was stubborn and fought Castillo with a hurt shoulder, he was lucky to come out with a W.
I’d love to see a rematch, but Lomachenko’s injured shoulder in the fight is his own fault. Listen to the people who care about you. He learned a lesson. Don’t fight while injured. It leads to nothing good. Coming in with an injury and no rematch clause. He was obviously overconfident. His accolades don’t matter, he’s human, he has a human body. Humans are fragile. He learned that the hard way.Comment
