Also, major kudos to Barrios for putting up such a spirited and courageous effort. His physical size of height, reach and length kept Tank off balance for much of the night but in the end Gervonta Davis prevailed.
So congratulations champ on becoming a three divisional world champion and also great effort by both men on producing such a good crowd pleasing fight!

Great fight yesterday. Excellent showing from both fighters. Davis showed the ability to step it up and rally and Barrios showed that he belonged - he will be champion one day. Davis was in trouble and in a close fight. He seemed to be tiring and concerned going into the round that he dropped Barrios the 1st and 2nd times. Barrios made the mistake of not listening to trainer Virgil Hunter going into that round. Hunter said to go to the body as Davis was holding his hands high to defend punches up top. Davis was tired. Barrios didn't throw one punch to the body....and Davis dropped him. Barrios was in trouble afterwards. Davis rallied going forward, and never looked back. Mayweather told him late in the fight, that unofficial scorecards had Barrios ahead.....And Davis responded. This was a very exciting and entertaining fight. Should Teofimo win his upcoming bout, I'd love to see him and Teofimo get it on!!!! Davis VS Loma wouldn't be bad either......although I don't think that fight will happen anytime soon.Last edited by Lefty0616; 06-27-2021, 06:47 AM.

Also, great to see a sold out arena in the USA for a big ppv, with fans going crazy, having a great time. Tank is definitely a ticket seller. Also great move by Haymon to take boxing to cities like Atlanta, Houston, Baltimore, etc etc. Cities with considerable African-American population. Taking boxing to the people and growing the sport should be the goal and pbc is doing a great job of adding markets and target audiences to the sport. Isn’t tonight a PBC on FOX night as well?BoxingIsGreat likes this.

Thoroughly enjoyed this fight! Both guys were worth their money. Mario can hold his head high. He’s proven that sometimes people just don’t know what’s going to happen when two fighters meet. A lot of people on here quick to ridicule and dismiss a fighter. Styles make fights. Appreciate both guys for their efforts.Oldskoolg likes this.
