Jose Miguel Cotto Headlines Card this Friday!
This Friday night undefeated junior lightweight contender José Cotto (25-0, 17 KO’s) will try to move a step closer to a world title opportunity when he collides against tough Mexican Genaro Trazancos (21-5-1,12 KO’s) for the WBO Intercontinental junior lightweight title. Cotto is currently ranked #4 by the WBO and #8 by the IBF. If victorious the Caguas native should position himself as a top candidate for a possible match up against WBO champion Mike Anchondo.
In the co feature bout Wilfredo ‘Papín’ Negrón (23-8, 19 KO’s), coming off a victory against Antonio Morua, will face late sub Marteze Logan (17-11-2, 3KO’s). Negrón was scheduled to face Mexican warrior Ubaldo Hernánedez. However Hernández suffered an eye injury, thus keeping him out from the event. Also on the undercard outstanding Puerto Rican Olympian Alex “El Pollo’De Jesús will make his second appearance as a pro. The event will have 10 action packed fights. Telefutura will air live starting at 9:00 PM ET
