Yes, it is a bit meh, and Barrios is the very guy to be holding that belt for Davis right now, but ultimately it has to be a stepping stone to a higher level for Davis, anything less than an A star performance followed by a step up in competition will do. He's chosen a tough track so he has to come up with the goods and follow up strong or at least make a very clear path to that. Would have been easier staying at a weight, cleaning it out and doing the same in the next step up. But he's on a bold path which piles on the pressure and expectation. Especially when he's PPV.
Do you think if his weight wasn't a problem he'd clean out the divisions decisively or he'd be jumping up to 140 anyway?
he was at 130 for 4 years and fought 1 top 10 opponent while ducking guys like loma, machado, and tevin farmer. hes a con

Trying to hype b-level Barrios up….as shown - Barrios has zero notable wins, does not use his height/reach…and struggled mightily in his last fight against a much shorter fighter. Easy Davis Ko in cherry-pick ppv mismatch.

Well if he wants to become a ppv star he should be a bit more humble, it cost 80$ dollars to see this fight that honestly doesn’t make sense since barrios is barely known and they are fighting for a fake belt. Nonetheless it’s worth a watch cause unlike the last Mexican Davis faced this one isn’t going up to fight him, he should be able to take his punch and trade with him and that should at least make it more competitive. Davis by decision
