The network was very surprised with the better than expected television rating for the fight. I've heard HBO is pushing for a rematch. [details]

To win Paulie needed to do something different and spectacular. Instead he just did the same old boring ass 3 punch combo, run and clinch that he always does. He's going to need more variety in his attack and defense if he wants to take it to the next level.

The Main reason i watched this fight is because i wanted to see if Malinaggi would get robbed, he may or may not have been robbed, but clearly the scorecards were geared to rob him.
The other reason i watched it is because I watch as much live boxing as I possibly can reguardless of who is fighting.
But I think the interest in this fight from people wanting to see if bias and unfair judging would be exposed, it was, an now people want a rematch to "rectify" the situation.
If a second fight happens, and the scorecards are fair, or if paulie wins, its wipes the slate clean in a lot of people's minds, and they can go back to believing that those judges weren't either incompetent or corrupt, or they can just forget about that fight all together.
I think they should have a rematch, then maybe a third match, but more importantly i think a neutral state should review the scoring in that first fight, and request that the judges and the texas commission be held accountable if it is determined that nothing logically explains the score cards...Last edited by DIB42; 09-03-2009, 10:51 AM.

paulie should take this fight for the same money and same weight in a different location. they can make a trilogy of it.

I think Ross Greenburg just doesn't want to show Wladimir dominate and KO another opponent. He seems to want to keep some of the world's best fighters such as Adamek and Wlad off TV, yet he doesn't mind showing limited boxers such as Yorgey and Pavlik. Go figure...Last edited by The Hammer; 09-03-2009, 11:35 AM.

It's also worth noting that for all of the money Wlad makes, he doesn't produce even decent ratings in the states. HBO could've possibly grown tired of throwing good money at bad ratings - the only Wlad fight they were willing to air this year was against Haye. HBO wasn't interested in Vitali... until Haye.
When that passed, it was either Arreola (Haymon fighter) or bust. Meaning, if Vitali didn't take the fight, Arreola would've most likely landed the/a date or else once again packaged with P-Will.
