its really hard for either guy to find a sparring partner that matches their opponent.. I'm not understanding the Joseph Parker thing though

I agree. Although Ajagba is a good fill in for Wilder's style.

      Good thread.
I'm always interested in the sparring top level guys use for preparation.
Young up and comers , veterans , contenders ?

Him and Fury are very good friends, and Parker is still a top 10/15 boxer.

you don't just atke sparring partners to mirror what your opponent does. the only thing i'd say is a cardinal sin would be to take a left handed spoarring partner for a right handed opponent, and vice versa, becaues you will do evertyhi8ng backwards.

you take sparring partners to get you ready and in shape, and they can bring different things to the table. parker is the most experienced fighter on that list and he is physically strong and does fight behind his jab with some handspeed. he's a very good sparring partner to have. world class work for sure.

i agree, but sparring with Parker doesn't really help with wilder. Shawn Porter is still a top ww, but I wouldn't spar with him to help out with preparing for Spence or Pac.... wait....

It's obvious that he's just in there for some money and to retire after Fury. He knows his time is up and he prefers to retire without getting beat up by a next boxer. And with that, he can claim he only lost to Fury.

If not, what would these clowns offer him in terms of muscle memory? The boy is a big clown.

The only way he wins is if it's scripted for the duo to fight for the 4th time and Fury takes a dive.

No, you need sparring partners for muscle memory and what you're going to do on fight night hence people spar boxers that can replicate a bit of what who they will fight in the ring can do.
