It'd likely still be a barrier - ain't sure collectively we boxing fans are the most progressive buncha folk around, but I'm thinking there wouldn't be the kinda outrage there mighta been 50 or even 30 years ago. Times-a-changing.

Likely GhostofDempsey and slightly more bluntly Rexy have it about right though, I'd say it would partly depend on just how much they lived up to the flamboyant stereotype. Statistically it's highly likely that there's a least a few of the recognised names in the sport that are gay, just obviously it's something they ain't chosen to advertise.
