I just have no faith in TR delivering for Crawford at 147. They’ve had 3 years to try and find him a marquee opponent and have failed miserably.

      I'm with you there.

What sucks is Ennis and Daniyar are free agents right now and TR can easily become a player at WW if they sign those two with Taylor/Ramirez coming up to 147 soon. TR could have Crawford, Taylor, Ramirez, Yeleussinov and Ennis with other solid fighters like Benavidez. I really hope they try to invest in this division.

Yeah they desperately need to sign guys, not sure Crawford has enough time to wait around for them to build a stable at 147 though, they should have been signing guys like Ennis, Daniyar etc 3 years ago tbh. It’s a shame Crawford just missed out on the days when TR had Pacquiao, Marquez, Bradley or even Rios, Vargas etc in and around 147.

Is Benavidez still fighting? Haven’t heard anything about him since the Crawford loss.

You know, I'm not sure. I know he had a kid last year and his brother said he was spending time with his newborn. Not sure what his plan is going forward.

Benavidez became sort of a mythical figure when he used to spar Pacquiao when he was a teenager. Damn shame his career never took off.

I think the leg injury via gunshot pretty much ended any momentum he was building. He must only be like 30 though, he could probably make a comeback if he wanted to.

But like even before the gunshot he wasn't looking like an elite fighter that once looked like he was going to become.

Still thought he had a good showing vs Crawford and would like to see him mix it up with the others in the top 10.

Yeah I remember him fighting Herrera and thinking he got a gift. Think he definitely had discipline issues, appears he fell in with the wrong crowd back in Arizona too. I think the Benavidez bro’s come from a pretty rough area if I remember correctly.
