Comments Thread For: Fury: What's Wilder Gonna Say? We've Heard Enough Excuses; Probably Best He Didn't Speak

Tyson Fury ridiculed Deontay Wilder for refusing to speak during a press conference last Tuesday in Los Angeles. Understandably, the unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion complained that Wilder wasn't doing his part to promote their ESPN/FOX Sports pay-per-view fight July 24 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The former champio

I'm worried about the weight of Wilder's headphones there. I thought he'd go for the small set you use with your phone. Fury TBE.

Well the dumb things he has said has been aimed at a certain portion of his fan base, the deluded bitter racist ones. Not his level headed fans and not anybody else.

He knows that to everybody other than those deluded few think what he has been saying is plain ridiculous so he's keeping his mouth shut and not answering to anything he has said until he goes back to his racist YouTube groupies where he is free to spout his crap again.

I like the silent Wilder better! He was "doing too much" in the last fight! Fury can sell the fight by himself!

Wilder's silence sells too. Everybody is used to hearing him talk so his silence is different and different sells.

I wanted Wilder to answer for his accusations against Mark Breland. Did he REALLY think be spiked his water bottle? What did he base that on?

And if Jay Deas is the one who missed the Egg Weights when overseeing the hand wrapping and glove checking then why didn't he get fired as well?

            So many questions.

wilder is a fraud coward who can't defend his actions of the past and his false allegations so he has to hide himself by staying silent. always a coward fraud pretender and always will be. no class, no honor, he is the worst shameful ambassador in boxing history and he makes the sport look like a crack house. ban or boycott wilder forever.

When wilder speaks, his detractors criticise him. When he is silent, they criticise him. When he wins, they criticise him. When he lost, they criticise him. When he isn’t on social media for months, they criticise him. When he does post on social media they criticise him. If he wins this next fight, they will criticise him. If he loses, they’ll criticise him. There’s absolutely nothing wilder can do in the eyes of his strange high energy detractors. What is also 110% true is that all these kids who love to hate him give him the most attention. They follow his social media, they watch his interviews, they watch his fights….he’s doing something right….

Wilder fires Breland, 5x's NY golden gloves champ, 84 olympic gold medalist, 2x world welterweight champion, who made one of the wisest, most compassionate decisions to stop a fight since Eddie Futch stopped the fight between Ali and Joe Frazier in the 14th rd. Wilder had no legs and was being soundly beaten from rd 1 til the end, offered nothing in return, hadn't landed any meaningful punches through the entire fight, had no defense, and was on his way to getting murdered.
Then he keeps the services of Jay Deas, who can't even spell boxing. A guy who molded all those bad habits, leaky defense and poor balance that Wilder always had, and made Wilder fall in love with his power.
That move, plus Wilder's numerous excuses after his loss, is behavior not fitting for a man who calls himself a champ. Every great fighter or past champ that I can think of, from Tom Molineaux, Bill Richmond, George Dixon, Peter Jackson, Jack Johnson, Joe Gans, Sam Langford, all the way to Sugar Ray Robinson and then on to the Modern times, has worn their asswhippings with dignity, honor, and class. None of them complained and made excuses. Mark Breland never complained either. This type of class and dignity is just as important as the work inside the ring, if not more important. Its the true measure of a real champion. Wilder has shamed what it means to be a champion and disrespected the legacy of every great fighter that paved the way, and sets a bad example for future generations of boxers, much like Trump's big lie will create generations of sore losers and crybabies with no class or dignity. For these reasons, I want to see him get his ass pounded out
