It would be hilarious if he unifies 175 and carnelo just moves up and beats his ass again

Smith benefited from a couple of things. Being a big guy for the division and being in a weak division while also remaining a domestic uk fighter. Once he stated to struggle to make weight and his size became a detriment, his minimal skills were exposed which is why Ryder beat him up.

Smith just isn’t that good. I wouldn’t pick him over any of the three champs at 175. People forget that he won that tournament off of having the luckiest route ever (unranked opponent in first round, opponent drops out and fights an unranked kick boxer in the second round, shot Groves in the final) not to mention champs like DeGale, Uzi and Zurdo weren’t in it, nor were up and comers Plant or Benavidez.

Pretty sure Smith was ranked 6 or 8 by TBRB going in.

really no interested in seeing any of the smiths fight again much less at 175, please ride into the sunset. The Smiths are just a chapter in the Canelo Biography.
