don't know what this has to do with boxing, but I think all basketball fans know this. If not for KG and crew in boston, he doesn't win anything. And he struggled to get to the finals playing against inferior competition in the east that year(aside from Detroit) -
Ben Simmons did not attempt a single shot in the 4th quarter of games 4-7. That is mind blowing! He was absolutely terrified to go to the free throw line when it mattered most.Comment

Except it isn't only because of this season's playoff failure for him being overrated. Doc's teams routinely lose series in which they are favored to win and he has blown THREE 3-1 leads which is insane. Doc is hardly ever making any adjustments, contrary to what we are seeing Lue do with his team. Doc's teams just perform poorly in close out games as the playoffs progress. He got his ring in 2008, but failed to close the deal up 3-2 vs LAL, failed to close the deal up 3-2 against Miami, blew a 2-0 lead vs Memphis, blew a 3-1 lead vs Houston, blew a 2-0 lead vs the Blazers, blew a 3-1 lead vs Nuggets and then yesterday lost to the 5th seed Hawks in a series they were the big favorites in.
Now, clearly the roster is flawed mainly due to Embiid/Simmons not being able to play together as well as they should...Simmons needs more spacing and needs to play faster to be effective and that's not happening with Embiid. But at the same time, Simmons doesn't even look to attack or score because he is afraid to be fouled and you can't win that way.
Saying all that, no reason for why this thread was posted on this board lol.Comment

The same applies to the other 3 I mentioned.

Those Clippers team had injuries at the wrong time and you can't blame him for Ben Simmons' lack of offense as a PG.
At least he put them in a position to win - something the 3 I mentioned are allergic to and would find a way to phuck it up even when they're winning with poor tactics and boneheaded decisions.Comment

To be honest, aside from Budenholzer, I'm just not familiar with the other two. I'll take your word for it.

Clippers didn't have injuries last year nor when they blew a 3-1 lead vs Houston. I mean CP3 missed the first two games vs Houston and they split before winning games 3 and 4 at home. That was his biggest miss. Even against OKC a year prior when they were up 15 in the 4th quarter of game 5 and they blew it. Now, CP3 should get more blame for that than anyone else.
Of course Simmons deserves big blame but when one coach constantly fails in the playoffs? It can't always just be the players.
Budenholzer is also a terrible coach at adjusting. He may end up getting lucky and winning a ring this season but that's just because his team is healthier than any other team right now. The fact they almost lost to the Nets with Harden being on one leg and Kyrie missing the last 3.5 games speaks volumes to just how bad Budenholzer is.Comment

That's my point. Budenholzer is worse.

Don't forget Budenholzer had a 60-win Hawks team that got swept by Lebron. Lebron was killing his Hawks team and he refused to doubt team him or make adjustments.

hes terrible. he was a mediocre coach with orlando. went to the celtics and was mediocre until he got 3 of the best players in their primes. won a championship but probably should have won 2-3. went to the clippers with a great team and choked/failed over and over. went to the sixers with a great team and couldnt beat the hawks! the hawks!Comment

how would doc rivers have affected the outcome of that series? his best player is a ****** up seven footer and he's asked to do way too much. ben simmons is to blame a hell of a lot more than doc rivers. he can't shoot the basketball and he's playing point guard. you literally can't with with that roster.Comment
