It just doesn't sound right. He's a terrible technical Boxer and would of taken 3 attempts to beat the 1st top class fighter he has ever faced.

I will fully respect the win but it makes an actual mockery of the term Lineal in regards to Boxing. Not that I ever feel it really means anything these days anyway.

Which organisations control who is Lineal? Or is it just about the rules but whose rules are they? Some say the rules are you relinquish Lineal when you retire which Fury did to try hide from his drugs ban.

My point being I feel Wilder is way too crap to deserve such a prestigious label. And he is a massive wanker.

As I've said around here and people don't believe me...the person who holds The Ring is largely considered to be the lineal champion, even though The Ring lineal and TBRB lineal are fundamentally separate things. TBRB doesn't have a belt.

But without fail, TBRB has gone along with this. If there's a Ring belt, they consider that person lineal.

So yes...should Wilder win, I expect they will call him lineal, NSB will be forced to acknowledge him as lineal, and he will surely cut an interview along the lines of, "Like I told you, and now you have to recognize your king as YOUR NEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lineal champion."

Lineal has been dead for a long time. It's a thing of the past now.
