Going off of what you saw from him last night?
Is Jermall Charlo a threat to Canelo?

Not IMO. I honestly don’t see anyone below 175 beating Canelo. He’s simply a level above these guys. -
I don`t think so.
Ok, we can say he could be more comfortable at 168 and with more power there. But I doubt.
From what have I seen about Jermall at 154 and 160, he is an easy work for Canelo.
Canelo is too much for everybody below 175. Maybe just maybe Benavidez has a chance.Last edited by JakeTheBoxer; 06-20-2021, 09:27 AM.Comment

well...id probably say no....of course i dont like to base things off of what we just saw...plenty of instances where a guy didnt look great in his last fight then looks good and does good things in his next fight........people were basically ready to write off teo after nakatani....then they said it was a 50/50 fight against commey and he slept him.......but id still say canelo is a level above charlo at least......doesnt mean i still wouldnt like to see itComment

ABC 123 style doesn't work against someone like Canelo. He can make it interesting though and he's gonna be trying from beginning to end, but Canelo should handle his style and skill set with relative ease, I haven't seen any extraordinary speed or power from Charlo either so that clearly favors Canelo.Comment

Not off of what we saw last night but Charlo at his very best can compete with Canelo. Doesn’t mean he’s a threat but he could put up a good fight.Comment

Not from that fight last night. He fights like that he would get tagged early and often from Canelo.
He wouldn’t be coming forward. He would eat a few counters and body shots then shell up.
He’s a good fighter and has a good chin but he’s not the one to beat Canelo.Comment

I wouldn't favor Jermall to win but he's not a walk over for Canelo either.
Canelo likes to fight at the same range Jermall likes to fight, which will keep Jermall in his comfort zone. That 70in vs 73in reach advantage will go a long way in establishing jab dominance.
So, I think it'll come down to hand speed and boxing IQ. Which Canelo has the advantage over Jermall with.
So, for me, that would be a real fight worth watching.
If you aren't a hater or some weirdo, as a true boxing fan and neutral, you'd love to watch Canelo v. Jermall Charlo. Because the fight is going to be high quality.
Ultimately though, I would expect Canelo to win. Because he will make the adjustments and Jermall won't. He'll go to the body and Jermall won't. Which will take the fight from Jermall and wind up getting Canelo the victory.Comment

Never thought Jermall could beat Canelo. I think his leaky defense and sometimes sloppy offense play right into Canelo's strengths. When he's just boxing mid range or back foot, those weaknesses are a less apparent but when he comes forward they're glaring. But, he does have a great chin, great jab, good speed and power and that should be enough to take some rounds off Canelo and make it an exciting fight. But hey, Callum Smith was thoroughly embarrassed and gifted a win over John Ryder, and all I kept seeing on here was "He's the Lineal, #1 ranked SMW!" when it was time for him to fight Canelo. Was he still a threat? Was he ever a threat?Comment

Yeah, to me Benavidez is the one that has the best chance.I don`t think so.
