I dont understand why people believe that giving Diaz the W was such a bad decision. I watched the fight a second time on demand to see how i scored the fight because i had actually thought it should have been Malignaggi winning by a round, but i changed my mind after really watching it and taking my observation of the fight without it being manipulated by HBO's commentators. I feel that Diaz edged out the SD. I agree the scores were way off, but after reading Dan Rafael's rankings, where he says Diaz was completely undeserving of the victory and I had a feeling that he wasnt the only person that wrote that. Lederman had Diaz winning by two rounds at the beggining of the eight round when you look at his card but he had Malignaggi up by a round after the round??? WTF?? Compubox numbers were weird. At the beggining of the 12th round malignaggi had only landed little over ten more shots than diaz and at the end it had malignaggi landing 30 more shots than diaz when towards the end of the round diaz was landing more shots in the last round??? To the critics I think this fight was relatively similar to the hopkins v calzaghe fight with reverse results. Calzaghe got the victory and threw more punches but Hopkins landed the cleaner more effective shots (much like Diaz IMO). Many argued that Hopkins should have gotten the victory. Look there is no question The judges were biased with their scores, but its not Diaz fault and it's not absured to say Diaz deserved the victory. Dont believe me and watch how lederman and compubox numbers do not connect and change.
Juan Diaz undeserving of his W?
