Floyd Mayweather responsible for wave of exhibition and crossover fights?

Most of these fighters were against exhibitions when a certain legend was partaking in them.I wonder why? One of them even wrote a 3 page desperate letter trying to convince fans not to purchase. Regardless, this shows that boxing is back. Boxing is hot rite now and we should ride the wave. Is Floyd Mayweather responsible for this wave of exhibitions and crossover fights? I think he has once again created another revenue stream for boxers.
*And of course haters we know he wasn’t the first to do exhibitions. Lol

We have Roberto Duran fighting in an exhibition.
    Which would be his second.

Oscar is now facing an MMA fighter Vitor Belfort

Chavez Jr is facing Anderson Silva

I’m almost certain there will be a few more announced before the month is over.

Did Floyd create a lane for these type of fights?

Exhibitions have been going on since Joe Louis' time, if I'm mistaken certain Ali. Crossover yes, exhibition no. I voted no.

Reading comprehension my friend. I said this new wave of exhibitions and crossovers. As it didn’t start getting back popular until Floyd fought McGregor

Older than the sport itself. Exhibitions, in vague terms, is how boxing survived as a martial art from the end of Roman boxing, pyx, in the 300s to the beginning of bare knuckle prizefighting in the 1720s. That said, yup, always been there, always had crossover.

One seriously old one I know right off was when Aaron Molineaux fought Caesar Coit in a series of boxing and wrestling matches from 1853 to 54. Moly rolled with the rassler, and Coit boxed with the boxer. Draws, boring ass exhibition ****. Point is, always been there. Whether you want to start at 1722, 1888, or 1920, I can find an exhibit and crossover before whatever folks want to claim is the beginning of boxing.

The only period I can't think of a crossover is pre-686BC. Soon as there was boxers there was boxers fighting wrestlers.

Exhibition’s have always been there. All Floyd has done is monetised one but the YouTubers were already doing that before Floyd was involved in the circus. He has helped legitimise the YouTuber though by being unable to beat him.

What youtubers we’re doing it before McGregor Mayweather
Who said they weren’t there? He made them popular again and opened up a new revenue stream. Networks weren’t paying big dollars for these type of fights until Floyd fought Conor.
