If Spence could pressure Cotto behind that jab, he may be able to win a UD. I never liked how Cotto dealt with pressure fighters. Too much unnecessary movement and doesn't know how to clinch and slow down the pace.

Flip side, Cotto had an elite jab with amazing timing and the left hook being his money punch and how good that shot is against a southpaw, he could pull it out. Toss up.

Yo I just started watching boxing like last year. How come people didn't like Cotto? And would refer him as Cotton?

lol It's the damn autocorrect. Cotto is my guy! There's a certain segment of people that just hate on PR fighters in general. Some didn't like how he got his MW belt and fought Canelo while ignoring GGG.

Great fighter though. A level or so below Floyd and Manny.

I put their heights into google and it says both are 1.77 mtr on many sites, nowhere does it say Cotto is 5'6", have you got any reference I'm intrigued now lol.

Boxrec got Cotto at 5'7, Boxrec got Spence at 5 9 1/2

i mean even without those sites cotto was always kinda obviously short lol, Spence is clearly taller.

felix is listed as 5'11 and dwarfs cotto

Hard to get a gauge on a fighters size often listed all different sizes like I looked as this pic and Bhop is 6'1: and think Oscar 5'10-11 .

Both fighters are around the same level. Hall of fame type fighters just never quite P4P #1 quality. Although Spence story still not finished, you'd probably have to go with Spence in this one but peak Cotto was badass wouldn't want to bet against him

                  Cotto

He can fight lefty as well

I see Cotto winning a clear but close UD

I think it would be an action packed fight were both get damaged...But I see Spence breaking Cotto down and taking over late

I'd side with Spence in a close fight. Outside of the Errol's size advantage, Cotto's lack of a right hand will make it hard for him to fight a bigger southpaw with a long jab. There's nothing strong coming down the middle from Cotto towards Spence outside of a jab. Hard beating a world class southpaw without a straight right

Only reason I say it's a close fight is because the Porter fight showed that Spence could be forced into a dog fight. And Cotto is sharp on the inside with good technique
