Bradley/Peterson Purse Bid Won By Shaw, December 5

BoxingScene.com has been advised that Gary Shaw put in the winning purse bid for the rights to Timothy Bradley's mandatory defense of the WBO junior welterweight title against interim-champion Lamont Peterson. On Wednesday at the WBO's office in Puerto Rico, a rep for Shaw put in a winning bid of $575,000. Top Rank, who promote Peterson, put in a bid of $402,000. [details]

Thanks gary shaw, I'm glad this fights not on ppv. I want to be able to watch this at my house, not at a bar or a live-stream in crap quality.

Does it really matter who gets the fight. The point is that the fight is happening.

Very interesting terms laid down by the WBO. I have to say that I like the way they did this. This would definitely motivate Bradley from a financial point of view to encourage Shaw to work with Arum and put this fight on the Cotto/Pac undercard. Then again, Shaw may pretty much figure this fight goes to the scorecards and tells Timmy Boy to take short money to keep his belt in front of the friendly Cali judges.

Why would you have to watch it on a stream if Arum was doing it? It would either be on a Top Rank PPV or a Pac/Cotto PPV under card. Personally I was hoping for Pac/Cotto under card to bolster that purchase a little bit more.

Also, I have never heard anyone refer to Gary "Fat Leisure Suit" Shaw as the F'n Man.

              Wow
