I hear a lot of people saying it was terrible, but what do you think?

If he couldn't get you in the first half of a fight he wasn't going to, he'd be running on empty because he put everything into every punch. After prison it was even worse.

I'm not really sure. Everyone likes to say it was horrible, but if he didn't expend so much energy early with his step forward, Bob and weave peekaboo style he may have been a 10-12rd cardio guy, but that wasn't his style, and an aforementioned lung problem may have been his reason for stomping the gas pedal in his fights.

With that guy, it was always hard to tell because his head always gave up before his body. He could only do the the "animal" constant attack thing for about 3 rounds. After that, he'd really only fight in bursts. I can't remember him ever getting to a really exhausted "can't lift my arms" kind of place like some of the big guys do, but Mike was a small heavyweight. If we was going to lose, or just try to coast to a decision, then he always seemed to give up trying very hard before he got truly, truly tired. Whether that's "managing your energy" or just half-assing it is a bit in the eye of the beholder...

If you ever boxed you would know he was in perfect physical shape. Could easily go the full 12 at his pace prior to leaving rooney.
look at the ribalta fight as the perfect example. 10 rounds of absolute war from both fighters and they both werent breathing hard. If you have the will to win, have trained to be in supreme shape and are prepared mentally, physically, spiritually then you can go even 100 rounds at a decent pace. The human body is capable of much more than what a lot of people believe
