Did Inoki lace up boxing gloves and win a round or two from Muhammad Ali?

    Don’t equate this to Mayweather-Paul.

I am not sure if anybody has mentioned this yet about Ali and his legacy with exhibition bouts, but I think Ali's legacy is deeply connected to his activism outside of the ring. Refusing to fight in Vietnam, his religious convictions, and alignment with civil rights all contribute to his legacy. Also, I believe he donated much of his earnings in the exhibition bouts to the Nation of Islam and charities.
