Spence is easier to beat and cheaper. Smarter choice. Crawford would be suicide.

I totally agree with Spence that Arum is a joke. It's the other way around Arum saved Crawford from a beating. He just wants his fighters to stay undefeated grow old by fighting nobody's and hardly ever fighting. I like Spence but I think Pacman is definitely going to win big-time without a doubt. Too much talent experience and power. At least Spence will be forced to become better and improve like Canelo did with Mayweather.Comment

good post !
here is my problem.....
..... not addressing you or anything, just spewing my thoughts onto the first post that I liked
I was a huge Bradley fan..... heck, I still am
Tim was a dog..... he won his first title at 140 in a tough assignment on the road against a very good opponent in Junior Witter..... then he defended his title against some dangerous punchers before taking a bunch of difficult fights against undefeated guys like Lamont Peterson and the tough welter Abregu, culminating in a unification bout with Devon Alexander to become the man at 140
Tim was a fkn dog..... despite not being great at anything, Bradley was very good at everything... and he always found a way to win
after the Alexander fight, it looked like Tim had a great career ahead of him..... the sky was the limit
then Tim signed up with Top Rank and moved up to 147..... but before the ink on the contract was even dry, Bradley said this... " due to boxing politics, I may not fight the best welterweights "..... Bradley KNEW exactly what was up
he knew that he would have little/no control over his career from that point..... he made a deal with the devil, and HE KNEW IT
I was hugely disappointed
and we all know how Bradley's career unfolded from there..... other than Pacquiao, Tim did not fight the top welters, just a bunch of Top Rank opponents..... and bizarrely, despite being ranked #3 at one point, he never even mentioned Floyd Mayweather Jnr
how the hell could you campaign at welter and have no interest whatsoever in Floyd Mayweather..... wtf?
very disappointing
Tim made a deal with the devil, he knew exactly what was up
Crawford, in my opinion, is the best fighter on the planet..... only Canelo can disagree with that, nobody else..... I am a huge Canelo fan, and he definitely has a much better resume than Crawford..... but the thing is this..... IF, all things were equal, and Canelo/Crawford were naturally the same size..... so, nobody going up in weight and nobody coming down..... just based on style/intangibles..... I have no idea if Canelo could beat Crawford, I think I would possibly back Crawford..... that is a VERY tough fight to pick based on styles
so, how fkn disappointing is Crawford..... because yea, just like Bradley, Crawford made a deal with the devil..... and just like Bradley, Crawford knows exactly whats up
HE KNOWS
he cannot land Spence OR Pacquiao..... but he stays quiet, and then faithfully turns up to fight his next Top Rank selection
when Arum was shltting on Mikey Garcia, Mikey told Arum to go fcuk himself and he sat on the bench..... Crawford has done nothing except collect his cheque
fcuk Crawford..... we all know Arum butt-fcuks his fighters, and now we all know..... Crawford enjoys it
VERY disappointing
Crawford is a fkn idiot, he sold his career for peanuts ..... and Arum is a lying scumbag and worthless piece-of-shlt
sorry for the long vent..... I needed that

I don't see the stylistic nightmare for Canelo that you do in a hypothetical Crawford fight because (a) Crawford does not have knockout power, he swarms, and (b) Crawford's temper will cause him to catch a shot and go down. That fight to me - TO ME - goes identical to Canelo/Khan and Canelo/Saunders, just with a bit more shots landed on Canelo. Because Crawford won't have a trigger ref to help him if Canelo's in there. The ONLY way he beats Canelo is to knock him out - and if Golovkin couldn't do it, Crawford's not doing it.
But if Crawford ate a shot from the current version of Canelo, you know full well as I do that Crawford doesn't see the final bell. Canelo has improved with every fight, while Crawford has significantly regressed. I re-watched the Burns fight and it was like a completely different fighter. Precise, clean, no dirty shots, barely touched, etc.
The only fight people can point at where Canelo was truly vulnerable was Jose Cotto AGES ago - and Golovkin, who was at the top of the class and a proven fighter.
That's why I put up the thread comparing Crawford to Golovkin, but most felt that Golovkin deserves more credit because he actually TRIED to fight top fighters.
When you're ducking top opposition, how can a person justify saying that you're going to do this or that against a guy who IS fighting and beating top opposition?
Remember, he lost EVERY round against Amir Khan, EVERY round against Kell Brook and damn near every round against Benavidez. Crawford can't handle an effective jab, and he walks into shots. If he walks into JUST ONE of Canelo's signature feint-uppercuts...it's game-set-match and if Kavaliauskas could land a shot...
We need to get back to a world where we judge fighters on the challenges they overcome - not on what it "looks like" they "might" could overcome. That's what got Tyson in trouble with Mitch 'Blood' Green taking him the distance and never going down.
But I have to call you out on the bold, because it's not correct.
Back after Tim beat Manny, interviewers asked him why he wasn't getting a Floyd fight and he said he didn't know; that was 2012. A year later, Floyd embarrasses Canelo, unifying 154 and Tim changed his tune when asked again.
So it's not that Tim didn't consider it - but he was smart about it. He knew he'd get schooled after he saw Canelo get schooled.
