    Are fighters more greedy nowadays?

**** they get offered all this money in the millions but it still doesn't seem to meet their expectations.
In the old days, boxers were earning a lot less and fighting a lot more.

Are boxers expecting too much these days,?
Imagine one of us earning that much money, I'm sure no body would be complaining, or is it that once you reach that superstar status, you expect the big $$$ in return.

It's hard to go back to smaller paydays once you've reached a certain level. This is not just boxing but in any profession.

Boxers may be more greedy nowadays, but it's hard to tell and to fairly compare when everything is on the internet and there's all these reports about deals getting turned down, someone asking for more money, etc..

We know about some stories from the past about certain fighters wanting more money, pricing themselves out, being greedy, etc...but now all the stuff nowadays, the technology is so great and we hear about deals getting turned down and other ****.

Big name fighters are used to big pay days. In today's economy, well you aren't always going to get the big money for smaller fights like you used to and some guys have trouble getting used to it.

Its not about fighters being greedy, Boxing is at a corporate Level (HBO, Showtime, Golden Boy, Top Rank, etc ) so these networks & promotional companies are the ones that are paying the (elite) fighters. If you are a champ or "face/name", and your are a well liked champ or "face/name" and a good fighter then obviously the networks feel they are worth paying them large purses to fight on their network because its been happening. Of course you have to perform and win, but if you lose they will just pay the next guy that is winning. (Where's Jermain Taylor?)

The fighters are the main show they should get the lions share , so seeing that in todays market of PPV and advertisement revenue a big fight will generate more money than ever before , if the fighters dont ask for more of what they generate who should get it if the fighter doesn't deserve it ,,,, ?
