Freddie Roach says the fight will go the distance

In this interview with David Tyler over at Doghouse Boxing, Freddie Roach predicts that Pac/Cotto will go the distance. "Cotto certainly has his hands full but he has some advantages against us," Freddie says. "By fight time he will be 20 pounds heavier than us. He will be the bigger, stronger fighter who is a very resilient guy. Of course he has started to cut lately and I’m hoping that will be a factor for us. Manny’s speed will bust him up a little bit, I hope. I just believe that Cotto is taking this fight more serious than any fight he has had."

Manny's punches are sharp as ****!..so his best bet is to attack that left eye wit some right hooks and open the cut..that way he'd have an advantage on Cotto from the start on top of speed!..

Cotto will more than likely cut; Manny's output is more than what any fighter has brought against Cotto and Miguel has a lot of scare tissue. There could very well be a cut caused by a butt with the contrasting stances and styles.

Manny's output isn't more then Margarito's..and Pacquiao won't output much cuz if Cotto couters with a flush right or a left to the jaw..it might wobble Pacman..

Pacquiao better respect the power..I'm sure Freddie's telling him that..but I agree on a butt..or a right hook choppin that cut open..

oh and about Roach talking about this "20lb difference" ???..Pacquiao will come in at about 148-150 on fight night..and Cotto will be about 154-157 he'll be with-in 6-7lbs from Pacquiao..he needs to stop that weight bull****..he's making himself look ******ed.

Cotto does seem to be taking this fight more seriously than any other fight. It is his biggest fight of his career, so it makes sense. I hope Pac doesn't reopen any of his wounds, but Pac's punches are sharp and fast.

The Mosley cut was froma punch late in the fight. Also Cotto always bleeds from the mouth in fights, and nose..... Actually that may be what has been draining his stamina. Swallowing blood would do that to anyone.

OK, effective output. At the end of the day the punches that will cause a cut are the punches landed. Pacquiao almost landed as many punches on Oscar and Diaz in 8 & 9 rounds, respectively, as Tony did on Cotto in 11 rounds. Plus Manny's faster and at 145 will hit as hard or harder than Tony IMO. And the pace will tire Cotto by the 8th round.
