I can take an educated guess. About 85% pay to see Floyd lose, and the other 15% pay to watch him because they like the way he fights.

When he was Pretty Boy he was a hardcore fan favorite but couldn't put asses in the seats. He wasn't doing nowhere near the numbers he started doing until he created the Money May persona, lined himself up with Oscar and the bigger name guys, and started marketing himself as the villian.

Floyd being a no risk high reward cherrypicker is criticism that he has earned legitimately. It started with Marquez and digressed to this latest potential fiasco with a Youtuber.

I know its a headache for you to keep making excuses for the man, but had he just fought everybody in their prime you wouldn't be so emotional over these types of topics.

Literally every top guy grew his fan base off a big win. He gained many new fans off of going to NJ and beating Gatti.

No, they're absolutely wrong, because their argument is predicated on an assumption that Mayweather is acting out of need. He is not. Taking this fight is an act of opportunism not neccessity.

He doesn't need them but he is happy to take the bundles of cash for easy work.
