I was rewatching cotto vs mosley and i was looking at shane mosley's corner and his father sort of discouraged him for some reason, asking him why hes not throwing punches, if shane hired ****m richardson as his trainer during the cotto fight what would have been the outcome?

Tough to say. Naz is definitely the better trainer, so it certainly wouldn't hurt.

But I don't see what Naz would do to stop Cotto's jab from giving Shane fits.

When I hear Shane talk about this fight now all I ever hear him say is "if I boxed more I would have beat him", and I really disagree with that. He was most successful applying pressure, but he didn't show he could hurt Cotto so I don't know if that would be effective either.

The fight would probably be as close as the first one.

Another thing that people need to take into account is the fact that Mosley's father couldn't get what round it was straight. He thought that the 12th round was the 11th round and Mosley didn't fight with the urgency he could have. Richardson would've had a better game plan. Mosley didn't even fight up to standards in that fight and still beat Cotto in my opinion.
