Absolutely and you know why its because he will have left everything in the ring. If he even goes that route.

You know what would be cool if Pac retires and becomes the President of the Philippines and has an exhibition fight with a big name retired boxer. Just imagine that! A fighting President!

He is getting credit for being 43 years old and past prime but still going after the #1 guy in his division. Who btw is in his prime.

And it is not only his stans giving him credit. Any boxing fan can see Pacquiao is not at his best anymore and taking on fighters like Thurman and Spence in his 40s is a big risk for him.

Thurman and Spence are not HOFers or ATG’s, Pacquiao likely gains nothing from those wins. But they are some of the best active welterweights this generation has to offer. And he is fighting them.

What is Crawford doing? He is number 2 at 147 and somehow #3 P4P by The Ring. He has been at 147 for 3 years now, and has wins over only two top 10 welterweights Jeff Horn who should have lost to Pacquiao, and a win over Kavaliouskas.

From 2015-present, Pacquiao has a better resume than both Crawford and Spence, and he is ranked below them at 147.

Because ****** journalists love to credit fighters who look great vs mediocrity and punish fighters who take on tougher opponents. That's why boxing is seen as such a joke. It's not Floyd vs youtubers that ruined boxing. It's the fact that journalists don't tell fans the truth. Commentators/networks don't tell fans the truth. They hype up the wrong fighters.

Crawford should be getting destroyed by the media and fans, just Mayweather is.

Pacquiao should be the #1 at 147. Pacquiao should be in the top 5 P4P list, not Crawford or Spence.

What is so special about beating Mikey Garcia at 147, Porter and DSG? How is that better than Pacquiao's resume from 2015-present?

Pacquiao should be 6-0 after Mayweather fight. But journalists, publications, networks are basing their opinions on how great a fighter looks vs mediocrity. Pacquiao might narrowly lose to Spence, and get 0 credit, while Crawford will KO some bum and get hailed as the greatest fighter who ever lived.

"Oh wow, Pacquiao is a legend for fighting a prime undefeated fighter!". And while that's cool, he needs to win. Meanwhile, his stans are already quick to say that he's washed, way past his prime/over the hill, already lost so many times so it doesn't matter if he loses. So if he's washed, why take this fight? It's absolutely meaningless and you don't get any credit for showing up to the ring to lose.

Now let's say the Pac loses a competitive fight in a non-controversial 113-115 decision, I would give credit for Pac giving a fighter like Spence a run for his money. Spence is a great fighter and definitely the top Welterweight today IMO, and he's worthy of top 5 p4p.

If Pac won that would be a fantastic win, and definitely be his best win at 147 lbs, and one of his best wins in general, maybe his best given all the circumstances surrounding it. Being 42, 2 year lay off, etc.,

That being said, Spence isn't an ATG as of yet. No way can Manny be automatically top 3 of all time just because he beats Spence. Spence is great, but not great enough where it would absolutely catapult/cement Manny into GOAT status. Maybe if Pac KO'd spence in like round 1 just because that'd be insane, but even then.

Imagine if Floyd were to come out of retirement. Despite being 44 and retired for the past 6 years, if he went up and fought Spence, Bud, Porter, etc., and LOST, all of his haters would be having a field day and using that as their argument for Floyd being underrated or lesser than Manny. They'll excuse Pac, but not Floyd. It just makes no sense.
Floyd made himself a villian to earn more money and everyone hates him because of it to this day. Manny on the other hand has a clean cut image which makes people more likely to support him. Floyd is never gonna seem like the winner in the media or these forums, because very few black men are in the mainstream boxing media and also few Black men visit these forums. These forums are dominated by Caucasians and Hispanics, with the Asians showing up when Manny or Inoue fights. As a result the prevailing opinion is always gonna appear to lean towards the people who are more prevalent. Having said all of that, Floyd has always dominated Manny in every conceivable way (fame, money, boxing), while also being the best boxer of his generation. Manny's fans will always need someone to compare their hero to, and who better than the best to do it for the last two decades.

It's obvious Floyd tried protecting his zero and it effected every decision he ever made.
we didn't get fights we could have got, Floyd cherry picked his way right to the end "he'd earnt the right to fight berto"? is what Floyd's fans said? Didnt travel?
Of course Pac s going to get credit for even just taking the spence fight its bloody dangerous. Just because Floyd was too scared don't project your frustrations out on pac!

Pac gets praised from me for taking a fight like this, if he would had fought Crawford I would feel just the same.

The problem here is that people already have him beating Spence or putting him ATG because he is taking the match. I want to see how they will react and what they will say if Pac gets blown out.

Yes, but we can clearly see Pac is daring to be great. We can't say the same for floyd that's clear and that's why Pac is fighting spence and Floyd's not.
We can't give floyd credit for being great when he used cw, was unwilling to travel to others backyards as his zero was too important, unwilling to what was necessary to make people not have any choice but to say he was goat. Like Pac is doing.
All Floyd did and his fans did was say he's earnt the right to fight berto? That's not Floyd's decision to make. We tell you when youve earnt the right.
