Leonard ellerbe has to be the most uneducated person in boxing iv ever had to listen to. He has no idea what he’s talking about. Gervonta davis is a three weight interim champion if he beats barrios who nobody knows. According to his promoter FM there’s too many belts in boxing, so y u keep fighting for interim and regular title and only with the WBA

This is an amazing fight, remember he is going up 3 weight classes against a young hungry lion in his prime. Canelo won't do that, Lomahcenko won't do that, Spence won't do that, even Charlo won't do that now.

Tank keeps fighting faded champs, little guys and fighters no one has ever heard of for interim title but he's supposed to be "boxing's biggest star" according to the Mayweather folk... Smh. There are so many legitimate fights between 130 and 140 and Tank ain't taking any of them. And this is supposed to be a PPV event? The blueprint is real...

Its wild to see how many people can knock a fighter they dont like no matter what he does. Gamboa was old and washed up and Leo was a 118 pounder that swelled in weight just for Tank to fight him according some of these so called boxing fans. The madness of it is Tank takes on a reasonable threat at a higher weight and somehow he's still cherry picking. You cant make this stuff up. THIS IS A DANGEROUS FIGHT AT A HIGHER WEIGHT CLASS PEOPLE! Get over it the little dude is taking risks plain and simple.

So your saying this is a cherry pick by Tank? I mean your entitled to your opinion but mine is different apparently. Yes Gamboa has seen better days but the same people on here giving Tank crap holds Haney up for beating Gamboa ( I'm not saying your one of those ) and Leo was a legitimate belt holder at 130 but there there are people that dont give Lopez credit for beating Lomo either because he was the little guy ( im not saying your one of those ) and yes I've seen Barrios fight. He may not be the A list group of 140 pounders but he is B level and a good match against a natural 130 pounder if not 126 with the right mindset. So yeah I see it as a real step as far as Tank moving up.

yes its a chrery pick because barrios isnt good. if you watch the akhmedov fight its clear that he has crude skills and will easily be ko'd.

why do you constantly use the "other people say" trope over and over. gamboa was done. have you not seen any of his fights for the last 5 years? jason sosa utterly dominated him. santa cruz was a "legit" belt holder oh really? please tell me who he beat. wait ill tell you since you might not know. miguel flores a guy who was ko'd by a 19-3 fighter and a 26-5 fighter just before fighting santa cruz. he then went on to beat an 11-7 fighter to "earn" his title shot. come on!

WBA Orders Immediate Rematch Between Batyr Akhmedov And Mario Barrios

The first fight, thoroughly dominated throughout by the 28-year-old Akhmedov, was controversially scored for Barrios by scores of 114-112, 116-111 and 115-111 which caused a massive uproar amongst the huge crowd at Staples Center and the ringside media all of whom scored the fight for the Uzbek.

Immediately after the scores were announced for the WBA World Super Lightweight Title bout this past Saturday night between Batyr Akhmedov and Mario Barrios, a massive outpouring of boos from the huge Staples Center crowd combined with a blistering attack on the judges on social media from the press and fans occurred as the Uzbek star was robbed of victory


Among the major boxing writers who scored the fight for Akhmedov were Kevin Iole/Yahoo (115-111), Dan Rafael/ESPN (114-112), Steve Kim/ESPN, (115-112) and Mike Coppinger/The Athletic (114-112). Punches landed per Compubox were 238-135 in favor of Akhmedov.

Barrios is the guy that robbed Akhmedov some time ago. That was a HUGE thing back then.

What's funny is the WBA ordered an immediate rematch. Never happened, never discussed again. Shady as hell
