Welterweight prospect Omar Chavez (17-0, 13KOs), son of the legendary Julio Cesar Chavez, is returning to the ring on the huge card in Mexico on September 15. The fight will be the first for Chavez since his tragic July bout with Marco Nazareth. It was a back and forth war for several rounds before the fight was stopped in the fourth. Nazareth fainted afterwards and died in the hospital four days later. [details]

Man ,the fight with Nazareth was a rematch for a reason.everybody thought the first fight with Nazareth was a bad call.I don't know if you seen the fight but it's far from a mismatch.I hope this doesn't distroy Chavez,he's got alot of potential.Comment

I just read a report it was a bad beating and that Nazareth shouldn't have been in the ring in the first place.Comment

I trully hope he does not get traumatized by this event. It is very unfortunate when something of this magnitude affects any sport, but he does have talent we can only hope it improves and if it doesn't this loss hopefully doesn't have anything to do with it..Comment
