No one at ESPN or Top Rank said they’re the reason the fight didn’t happen.

They said there wasn’t enough money to give Porter what he wanted.

At the point Porter and his team knew that, they could have sent a signed document to the WBO to enforce Porter’s position as the number one contender.

Porter would have gotten 25-percent of the highest bid.

He didn’t send the document.

There isn’t a network conflict between ESPN and Fox. They make joint PPVs. The rule you’re referring to is completely irrelevant.

Third of all:

If Porter refuses to fight on ESPN, that’s his problem. The rule is there to prevent mandatory challengers from refusing to fight on the champion’s network.

Fourth of all:

Porter has never stated that the WBO screwed him over or that ESPN screwed him over to protect Crawford. IN FACT, Porter said Crawford ISN’T ducking him and that he (Porter) is the one moving on from trying to make a Crawford fight.

Fifth of all:

Crawford fought a WBO mandatory two fights ago. 18 months ago. There’s a global pandemic and many other champions haven’t even fought since COVID hit.

Sixth of all:

Crawford was never ordered to do anything with Shawn Porter because of Shawn Porter not signing a one page document and mailing it.

Only a troll like you would pretend that espn literally saying they are the reason the fight didn't happen means theres no network conflict (the WBO rules say"when a network contracted super champs network doesn't want an opponent"because of rival competing network" they can go to the next ranked fighter so long as hes worthy of being mandatory based on resume,& the network being ok with him"

The step before being designated as a mandatory contender is sending a signed document called “application to be designated as a mandatory challenger.” to the WBO.

The whole world was watching Porter repeatedly call for that fight....Crawford pretends the top guys won't fight him....bull****. To finally silence the critics why not say let's do it Shawn and let everyone know he wants the fight. Instead he went into hiding, and the last I looked he's still hiding. listen...i could def agree with you on this.....but ive tried to look at the situation and be fair about it....i agree they sent no offer...but we know porter is taking that fight for the 25 percent purse bid for sure....and bob will at least make it seem like porter wants too much in a negotiation...thats always his out in this situation.....but to be fair haymon aint letting porter go over there and fight for less than what hes worth...and what porters worth aint worth it to bob

touching on what we were discussing in the other thread about haymon....tbh none of these guys want to work with each other unless they really have to...its much easier to match up their own fighters and get two guys paid and have access to the winner....unless its a big time fight like spence/bud....wilder/fury....even in an instance like bud/brook yeah bobs paying some good coin for brook but he knows whats going to happen and having a UK fighter in there never hurts exposure
