What sucks is that Ugas would always be in a win situation, but defy Haymon who’s providing penthouse life styles, these fighters bend over to matchmaking strategies. PBC has always been littered with shady occurrences.
I mean who da fuq was Konstantin Ponomarev? What would’ve been his purse vs Ocampo? Who the hell was interested in that fight or it’s marketability. Remember when Santa Cruz defended a title against some guy who got like 1% vs Cruz’s million purse. It’s obvious Haymon paid Konstantin step aside money to just dip out. The compensation to dip out and shut up was easy money back in 2018. When Ugas wins his eliminator, somehow the IBF was suckered that it was not Ocampo’s fault. Then Ugas moves to the WBC world and informs the IBF that his title eliminator win was no longer a priority. This rotation of matchmaking while bribing fighters is why many fans don’t respect Al Haymon.
