In other words, if you are going to criticize a boxer's in-ring performance or comments he makes as a boxer when getting interviewed, because he did/said something bad outside of the ring; I have a list of boxers for you. Which may include some boxers you praise. And may have done worse things than stripping a homeless man.Comment

Pro boxing does not attract many scholars and gentlemen. Pro boxing is a sport for the poor man, **********, always has been. Stories about boxers sleeping in cars, sleeping in the street, being "bad" people growing up might come as a shock to some middle/upper class fans. But boxing is actually a very ****** sport. The other day a poster said that Triller seems to attract hood**** and is really ******. I laughed inside because boxing is for poor people, who come from ******s, etc. It's for ********** with relatively poor education, and come from impoverished neighborhoods/families. I got into boxing in streets, building lobbies, basements and sparring in gyms because my neighborhood in nyc is ******/poor as f/ck and that's what we did for fun.
With that said, yes, you are going to have "bad" people with bad attitudes and bad history and who would likely be locked up if it was not for boxing. It isn't a shocker that boxing attracts people like:
BJS who picked on homeless people
Adonis Stevenson who beat and pimped out women
Bernard Hopkins who stuck up innocent people and banks for a living
Gerald McClellan who pretty much killed dogs for fun on the side
Khurtsidze who was an enforcer for a crime syndicate
Edwin Valero who killed his wife
Felix Verdejo who killed a pregnant girl
Qawi who did 5 years in prison for armed robbery
Carlos Monzon who killed his wife and beat up women
James Butler who killed Max Kellerman's brother
Terence Crawford who has been charged with theft of services, criminal mischief, assault in the third degree, and trespassing and hung out with gangs full of murderers growing up
I can actually go on, probably all day. But I think (or hope) you will get the point with that short list.
The only two people on that list I support are Bud, obviously, and Hopkins. Let's get Hopkins out of the way, he did his time, promised he would be an upstanding man and never go back to that life, and you can't deny that that's what he did. I'm a christian and started going to church more as I got older, so I believe in second chances for everyone. He made the most of that and more, Bernard is an upstanding citizen who does great things for his community in Philadelphia. Let's agree that he beat the odds and is a role model to look up to.
Crawford I really don't want to argue about anymore but I have my opinion on him and genuinely believe him to be a good man.
At the end of the day I don't wish harm on anyone. Hopefully BJS will not talk so tough and criticize fellow boxers who pull out of fights with injuries. I said I'm a christian and believe that any man can repent for their sins, and I hold myself to that standard too when I sometimes rush to judgment for these fighters like BJS, I don't know everything about BJS's background what caused him to do what he did, all I know was it really annoyed me. But I should not be judging anyone or calling anyone an evil scumbag, it's not what I was taught. Hopefully he can realize what he did was wrong, recover with full health, and be a good role model the way Hopkins is.Last edited by TernceBudCharlo; 05-16-2021, 07:37 PM.Comment

Absolutely nothing wrong with BJS's corner stopping the fight, would have been completely negligent to allow him to continue. Teddy questioning if it was really broken is also a bad look in hindsight, this whole take was off the mark IMO and his over exaggerated yelling is too much for me these days.
BJS criticising DDD is the issue, he was wrong then and karma has paid a visit, that doesn't change the fact a corner should pull a fighter with that injury 100 times out of 100.Comment
