What is the process in cases like Verdejos,how long will it take,can he win & more

Was researching how long it would take for Verdejo to face justice. Apparently the federal government has a law that says they may take no more than 70 days for a case to be brought to trial. I also have the statistics for how long the average case takes by crime.

so the way the process works is, the grand jury 1st indicts (already done) & this doesn't mean hes going to lose per se, Because as they say a grand jury would indict a ham sandwich if prosecutors wanted it. So they did as they always do,they indicted Verdejo,denied him bail til trial(which will further speed up time til trial),then he entered a plea of not guilty,& next he will be assigned a court date & the trial will begin which can take up to 70 days to begin from my research due to it being a federal murder trial.

Can he beat the charges? It depends on whether or not hes visible on the video, whether his attorneys can establish reasonable doubt that he didn't have anything to do with it,etc. My thinking is he will try to paint it as if his friend's did this on their own & he had nothing to do with it.

He'll claim ignorance & that his friend's did this thinking its what he wanted. He will say this because its its only possible defense,the other alternative is that he will argue that he was on drugs & unaware of what was happening (as rediculous as this sounds,the lawyers want to avoid the death penalty at all costs)

Oh yeah the other alternative would be to say that he didn't know his friend would kill her,& that he didn't mean for this to happen.

If OJ had been tried in fed trial he likely would've lost imo.(It's almost impossible to beat these charges because they have a accomplice turned witness,and tons of evidence,but as I said for him winning would be avoiding the death penalty,thats that I meant when I said can he win, anytime you stay alive thats a win no?)

Anything fed is bad, I heard about a couple people caught charges from the feds. They break you down the way a boxer breaks an opponent down and frustrates him before you even get convicted, only stand a chance if you have millions of dollars for the best lawyers possible and even then it's a very very very small chance. Fighting a charge from the feds is like stepping in the ring with Floyd or Canelo, good luck.

In this case it'll actually be quite speedy, Because what takes yrs is gathering enough evidence to submit to grand jury for indictment,in Pendejos case they already have all that,they already have so much evidence its going straight to trial(the law says it has to be within 70 days)
