As long as having your face fractured is the reason you couldn’t continue and not the excuse. Cause then you can mention all the other fighters whose face didn’t break under Canelos power. The power difference was too great. Nelo throws 90mph fast ball with each lunch. Every part of you that he hits takes a toll. Even with the huge ring BJS was backing into the corners and ropes. Idiots like Chris Mannix don’t know what they are seeing. Slick BJS sure ducked into a lot of punches. BJS can rubber band his body and make himself a moving target. But he’s better at proactive movement than reactive just like most fighters. That’s why BJS guesses wrong sometimes and gets tagged hard. Canelo I believe legit slips in reaction to the punches he sees coming not the ones he expects are going to come. BJS can say he was doing great and had Nelo right where he wanted him, but then he has to say he got stopped by a single punch and not even a culmination of punches. I don’t have a problem with him not continuing. I don’t like to see anyone take unnecessary punishment. But he refused to continue himself. His face got fractured. As long as he doesn’t try to spin it any other way than the facts. Like it was just some bad luck. Slick Billy Jean ducked right into an uppercut and increased the damage from his own wrong reflex.

The perfect salesman, just exclude all the BS that your fighter didn’t do. Staying on your stool isn’t quitting, forgot how he demand X-rays of DDD eye, the only reason Warren hasn’t come out and demand the same of BJS is because he is still mates with him…

It’s no secret, I can’t stand this fellah but if he went out (and got past the ref) his corner would have thrown the towel in.
second, there’s the doctor’s opinion which, overrides anything.
another part, canelo started throwing heavier in the last couple of rounds and saunders definitely felt it, he walked back to his corner weighing it all
up and if he were honest, he no longer fancied it.
terms such as “turned his back” “chit out” “easy pay check” etc etc are all, irrelevant to him at that point and he was far from thinking of all the things
hes previously stated about Daniel Dubois to name one, all in all, it was a decent effort to try and box but domestic level don’t compare to mayweather.
he now has a genuine reason to walk away because it won’t get any better for him. Furthermore, there’s the repercussions of all what he has said which
he won’t easily be forgiven for.
it was the right call and inevitably, he will start saying, “what could I do? My corner stopped it not me”.
afterthought.....he wasn’t begging his corner to continue was he? Is that a thing? I mean, he hardly did a zag Judah on his corner did he?

Heavyweights naturally have more destructive power so it would be even riskier to finish out the round (assuming he really had a broken orbital) He gets a bit of a pass too since that won me a nice chunk of change lol. Also Dubois wasn't getting Canelo money for the fight is another valid point I think.
