Povetkin hadn't recovered from covid hence why he was staggering around like a drunken sailor. As for Ruiz, he clearly hadn't trained for the AJ rematch.

Also Eddie Hearn pays off judges and refs to favour the boxers he promotes.

Povetkin was getting battered the same in the first fight before landing that punch. Ruiz was too. Over the two fights both Whyte and Joshua proved they were superior. Make all the excuses you want, but those are the facts.

So I ask again, how has it hurt their standing?
If age takes shine off a name on a resume then what does losing to an old man equate to?

If I made a thread about Marciano being the GOAT how many replies would it get before someone said Marciano's resume is old men?

You don't get credit for winning against old men. Losing to them will follow your whole career. So, what Whyte has is a win no one win ever credit because you don't credit old men and a lose that is laughable and will follow his career long after he's dead, and, it's not even championship level.

Why isn't Don ****ell a resume win for Rock? 'Cause he's fat. ****ell did well at HW and going into the Marciano fight had earned his slot by moving up ranks....not sitting on ass at home hoping for a lottery ticket. Conversely, Joshua's **** ass lost to a fat man.

How does it hurt their standing....ffs....let me flip that on you and tell you directly; I do not believe you are too ****ing ****** to understand what is simple and used daily on this forum.

LOL you stretching big time. What you talking about is scars. Tyson lost to Douglas, Lewis to McCall, ATG great fighters with scars that ppl bring up. Ruiz will always be talked about in regards to Joshua there is no getting away from that fact. But just like Lewis he avenged that shock defeat.

I say this as a big Joshua fan, he isn't an ATG, he may well get in the HOF, especially if he gets undisputed off Fury, but he isn't an ATG like Tyson or Lewis. But they lost fights they shouldn't of lost and are still very highly regarded. Only salty haters such as your good self are going to dismiss Anthony Joshua and his entire career based on a loss he avenged.

But his current standing in the sport? Considering he got demolished by a fat man? Well he couldn't be in a better position other than be undisputed which it seems he will be doing next for a world record fee.

You are just another Brit, AJ, Hearn Hater who gets salty and frustrated at his successes and that's why you write the utter bollocks that you do. You think you are some historian of the sport so that automatically raises you as a higher level of Boxing fan, you know your history but you are still a silly salty cvnt.

Funny thing ortiz was 7 years older yet you put bum squad as number 1 in the division for beating him.
Then when half the forum was saying 'ruiz had joshuas number' and 'the wrong style' for AJ and was going to KO him again, AJ goes out there and puts on a superb performance, makes ruiz look like a fat bum, you then say 'oh ruiz didnt train, ruiz didnt have the eye of the tiger', doing a complete 180. I will give credit where its due, you guys sure are creative with your excuses. Why is it so hard to admit that these fighters, like the best fighters do, made adjustments and showed their class? you ****ing wankers!!!!
Oh look, my favorite racist scumbag has made an appearance and still playing the victim.

What weight division is that? It sure as fa ck isn't heavyweight.

But the second Whyte-Povetkin fight? Povetkin looked awful just walking to the ring. His legs were already gone in the first fight, but by the second fight he could barely stay on his feet even when he wasn't getting hit. It was sad.

Whyte can only beat the version of Povetkin who shows up, so it's not his fault, but Povetkin is clearly toast.
Even one of the pro-Whyte Sky cheerleaders/commentary team said Povetkin looked strange and off all week before the fight.
