Steve Cunningham moving up to heavyweight?

A Polish website is reporting that Steve Cunningham has said he's moving up to heavyweight.

Cunningham is quoted as saying that although he has no problem making 200, the TV networks have no interest in the cruiserweight division. To make some decent money, he feels he has to move up to heavyweight.

I think HBO and Showtime are doing an injustice to Cunningham, to Adamek and to boxing fans.

One of the best fights of 2008 was Cunningham-Adamek. Generally, cruserweight fights are more action-packed and more punches are thrown, because the fighters need to be in shape to make 200.

pretty sad, that tv networls have no interest in the CW division, the division has had some great fights over the years aswell, inluding qawi/holyfield and toney jirov.

i don't think adamek or cunnungham will win titles at HW!

There's some good fights to be made in the CW division if these guys stay in it. In addition to Adamek and Cunningham, you got Marco Huck, BJ Flores, Guillmo Jones, Vasilli Jirov, and there's probably a whole list of guys I missed; CW division has alot of talent and good matchups..

Steve Cunningham has the height and reach for the heavyweight division, at 6'3" and reach 82". That's taller and longer than Eddie Chambers, Oleg Platov, Denis Boytsov, Ruslan Chagaev, Sultan Ibragimov, Brian Minto, etc.

This has become a problem in the cruiserweight division since Holyfield moved up, We have had decent fighters there but they just dont get the exposure they deserve, HBO would rather hype up and pay over the odd for people like Berto than give someone like Tomasz adamek a proper exposure/good pay..Shame

True, but he has no power to compete as a heavyweight. Even at cruiserweight he wasn't considered one of the biggest punchers. If he had had more power, he'd probably beat Adamek.
