dawson versus cloud

Right now Dawson by UD, he is just too fast and slick for Cloud at this point. I will say that Cloud always has a punchers chance as Dawson has kind of a suspect chin and some of the shots Cloud caught Woods with would have put Dawson down.

In another 2 or 3 fights though Tavoris Cloud is going to become a very strong opponet for anybody at 175.

He's a big Light Heavyweight and he throws as many punches a round as most Lightweights.

A little more experience and I think he can take it to "Bad" Chad.

ok got a little inside info on this one, i have been in top rank gym i vegas when eddie mustafa muhammed was training dawson and dawson was sparring a strong but very limited middle weight named carl ****erham. ****erham has got a little power but no teq to back it up, dawson was boxing his ears off but carl kept comming and landed a good right hand and then he landed it again almost dropped dawson and eddie stop the sparring. from what ive seen with that cloud is he might be a little raw but his teq is good he has power and will keep comming. 12 rounds is a long time not to get hit flush, too long. cloud will catch him in the end. look what glen did to him and glen does not nearly throw as many or as hard as cloud.

Dawson is probably a bit chinny, but it isn't going to matter if people can't get to his chin. People have been talking **** about Dawson for awhile, I didn't see his last fight against Tarver but I heard Dawson was boring probably because Dawson isn't going to stand their and let some one wail away on him. He is going to keep moving and box from the outside because he has a pretty good jab and very fast hands to go with it.

How so? He couldn't beat an old Glen Johnson easily, why would he beat a young lion like Tavoris easily??

Because that young lion is no where near as good as Johnson, nor proven. As for the people who are repeatedly saying that Cloud is a younger version of Johnson, you must see something that i don´t. Johnson is a volume puncher that comes inside behind a high good defense and that frustrates boxers because it makes it difficult for them to score clean shots so they just hit gloves most of the time. Cloud on the other hand, while powerful, has defensive lapses, he loads up on one punch and can be kept at bay with a consistent jab (which Woods couldn't miss with when he used it). I think he would be a tough fight for Dawson, but they are in two different leagues. If Dawson fought consistently the he did with Adamek and Johnson, he beats Cloud.

i like dawsons skills, personally i dont because hes kind of a **** in the gym, plays the hard ass with a chip on his shoulder. he boxes beautifully but fighting a pressure fighter with speed and power he is not as poised, if you try to box him your in for a long night but if you fight him you chances of beatting him go up dramaticlly. and i think cloud has to style to beat him. pascal no way beats dawson but that romainian kid fighting out of canada has a chance too. styles make fights

cloud just does not enough skill. he didn't even show me that he was superior than woods. he has to many flaws and very bad defense for a fighter like dawson to exploit. but he is also determined and has power as he showed against the durable woods.

very dificult to choose. it could very well be another Dawson Johnson type matchup tho Cloud is younger and faster. SD to Cloud!
