The DAZN announcers were ******ed and in their 10 minutes of speculation on the injury never once mentioned it may be a broken or fractured orbital bone, despite the injury looking very much like previous orbital bone breaks. ***ing amateur hour over there at DAZN.

I'm sure Billy can fight a few more times before riding off in the sunset. He has exceptional defense, dare I say he's a cut above a few guys in the division, so he may not get caught with big shots like that as often, if ever.

I'm not being selfish here...if he retires, then good on him; He's already given enough to the sport.

The guy had a pretty clear eye injury. That is what the corner is for: to protect the fighter. Anyone expecting a boxer to continue on with such a major injury just so they can "go out on their shield" for their own entertainment is just being selfish.

dude if u let billy decide if he want to trade his eyesight for a win against canelo, i think he wouldn't do it and rightfully so.
no win over any opponent or any amount of money is more worth than health/ your eyesight.

just taco eatin incel ******* on this forum wanna see another patrick day so their little micropenis swells up a bit before they forget about "their warrior" and hop onto the next one.

If Billie's corner let him out

Then they are not professionals, if the Doctor let him go out he would be questioned big time. It's borderline medical negligence.

If Billie did go out, he would have got blinded and the ref/doctor would have stopped it after less than 1/2 minutes. If Dubious continued to fight he would have probably sustained career ending damage.

Also his only chance to win which they knew going into the fight was on scorecards that have already been bought...So why bother losing your eyesight for nothing? for one ****** decision.

The only people upset he didn't go out are casuals who want to see blood, BJS didn't let Canelo beat on him and lay down like previous opponents.

There are only rare circumstances where boxers can and do fight on with pretty big injuries, torn ligaments, broken jaws, bad cuts that the doctor deems only superficial. hematoma's, again this is the doctors call.

A doctor can stop the fight whenever he wants, if you shows negative neurological signs having a brain bleed and a doctor stops it some fans will cause a riot because are idiots who DKSAB.

Sounds like business partner talk. Protecting and defending his business partner in the business event. Further evidence Canelo vs Saunders may have been an inside job skit.

He did quit because he had to.

Let’s face it. Not many people would continue fighting after that type of injury.

We have seen ATG’s quit for reasons way worse than that. Roberto Duran’s infamous no mas happened with no injury behind it. Just frustration. Imagine if a fighter does that today. Fighters get called quitters for getting injured in the ring. Imagine a fighter waving his arms at the ref and saying “That’s it, i’m good. Not fighting anymore.” Why? “Cause his style is too good, I can’t catch him”.

That would be nuts. And that was a Fab 4 fighter. BJS is no where near Duran’s level. Or Canelo’s level. And people really expect him to go out there with a broken face and be a “warrior”. When they won’t do that themselves if it was them in his shoes.

You break my face, i’m done. What is there for me to prove? I’m severely outgunned. I’ve never been a KO artist even at 160. My opponent took every power punch GGG had to throw at him for 24 rounds without even getting remotely stunned. My opponent is taking my punches like he’s fighting a 7 year old girl. What can BJS do in the next 4 rounds? Hail mary’s work only if you have power for that.

Had BJS come out for the 9th, he may have gone out on his shield. But it’s so barbaric to think like that as a fan. And yes, BJS shat on Dubois for quitting, but it doesn’t make you a better human being for laughing at BJS about his issue. BJS got enough karma, he knows it, and he has to deal with that himself. He learned the hard way what Dubois went through as a fighter who quit. Now BJS knows what it’s like and he can sit there and rethink his words about another fighter who did what he just did.
