What was the point of BJS asking for a bigger ring?

His gamelan (which was ******ed imo) was to hang around in the pocket and try and slip and counter, when he did move it wasn't by that much.

When he demanded the 24 foot ring or whatever it was I thought he was going to be dancing all night long but he only did it occasionally.

Honestly with the strategy he used the fight would look exactly the same in 18 ft ring.

I believe BJS had never even fought in a 22 foot ring in his career in the first place. Clearly he was just trying to play some mind games but that was never going to work so he just wasted his time. Maybe to him he felt he one upped Canelo but that meant absolutely nothing.

Ring size contributed to the fact the fight lasted 8 rounds.

I expect it had something to do with them believing Canelo lacked the stamina to stay on the move. They didn't factor in Canelo being able to slow the pace with his power. Canelo fought a different fight by pacing his hands instead of his feet. He walked a lot but threw little. He just tried to make every shot count which is why when he threw...he threw for the fences. His timing was a bit out...but the shots that did land certainly had instant effect. Enough to keep BJS from engaging and eventually forcing him to quit.
