such an early stoppage. the man was clearly out working his opponent. outgunned but clearly scoring and was in the fight. cole is the worst. so many controversial call throughout the years and he still refs championship fights.

He was getting blisterngly beat to a pulp. I saw the fight, I saw the gif, the guy needs to retire. 37 is too old when you don't have the skills. These guys are terrible. Looked like amateur fighters, I've seen better amateur fighters.

Why are you guys so hyped on these little guys? If they had hand speed or any redeemable quality I would understand, but they're terrrible.

Felt so bad for Takayama, he didn't deserve to get stopped like that. It was an entertaining fight until the finish & the crowd were getting behind Taka. I guess the referee thought Soto was landing too many clean head shots but his reaction in the ring afterwards tells you he was fine to continue. At least he gained a lot of fans in Texas!

Currently, Jr. flyweight is lacking, Elwin Soto, Hiroto Kyoguchi, Felix Alvarado and Kenshiro are the top dogs. However, Roman Gonzalez, Kosei Tanaka, Naoya Inoue, Kazuto Ioka, Donnie Nietes, have come from 108 ; I'm sure anyone with real boxing knowledge wont deny the talent of these P4P caliber champions. As such, one must recognize that these '' little guys'' are worth watching, based on the notable achievements that the aforementioned.

He WAS retired. One fight in 5 years, took this on 30 days notice. DAZN trying to pick the biggest cherry possible.


Why are you fine with a BS stoppage just because you don't like the fighters?


EDIT - and for someone who was getting "beaten to a pulp" you'd expect some sort of facial damage to a fighter with high cheekbones...
