I just don't want flip-flopping after the fight is all. That's what happened with Kovalev and Callum Smith, and it shouldn't happen here.

I want NSB to give Canelo credit for beating one of the top guys (by the 'eye test') in the divsion.
im confused. hes looked horrible at 168. he almost lost to Marcelo Esteban Coceres and his other 2 wins were against old martin murray and some guy named Shefat Isufi. so he doesnt pass the eye test or the resume test at 168.

      hope canelo sleeps him

This, he hasnt beaten anyone, his resume is trash, those are his two best wins.

I bet he will run the entire fight and only fight to survive, but i hope canelo catches him.

NSB says that Billy Juice Saunders is a "slick southpaw" that will "give Canelo fits" because of what happened with Lara.

NSB also says that we should look at Saunders' performance against Lemieux as an example of his brilliant, slick boxing skills that will fluster Canelo.

Tyson Fury says the gypsy powder is in the air.

That's all 'eye test', bro. I'm just repeating what I'm hearing on the board and elsewhere.

but have you watched his fights recently? you can find ****** comments anywhere if you want to. he almost lost to some unknown guy who lost to a 15-3 fighter after fighting saunders. thats not amazing eye test stuff.

Ok, but the point of the thread is, people on NSB say he's a slick southpaw ('eye test') that will give Canelo fits. THEY say that.

I'm saying, if that's true, when Saunders gets KNOCKED OUT, I don't want those same people to flip-flop and then all of a sudden call Saunders an overrated bum.

I want them to admit that Canelo beat their 'eye test' and made it look easy.

            That's all.

Either (A) Saunders is and always was a bum and we expect him to get sparked out because of it, or
            (B) Saunders is an elite 'eye test' fighter and when Canelo sparks him, everyone should give him credit for it.

but why would you take anyone seriously who thinks saunders has looked good according to the eye test? he hasnt. he almost lost to some random bum.

It's not about taking anyone seriously, it's about holding people accountable for their opinions and exposing them when they contradict themselves.

I'm on record. I don't like hypocrisy. I like consistency.

Besides...if I'm right, and Saunders gets absolutely smoked, what it SHOULD do is help convince people why resume matters.

And then MAYBE...just maybe...we get people off Crawford's horse too, for the same reason. And Berlanga. And Andrade. And Plant. And Benavidez. And everyone else that's been getting overhyped.

There are just too many situations where someone "looks slick" and get overhyped to hell despite having beaten nobody of credibility. Saunders just happens to be the most recent offender.

On the upside, if Saunders can pull off the impossible, it's 80-to-1 payout on a round bet for him. I think that's higher than Buster Douglas.

But I would remind you...just last year he was talking retirement.

Usually when a fighter goes as far as talking retirement their mind is F'd.

We saw the same thing with McGregor, same thing with Menayothin, same thing with Cotto (before he fought Sadam Ali), same thing with Manny (before he fought Horn).
Why does he deserve our respect? He didn't fight anyone good - that's why he is undefeated. I'd respect him twice as much if he had stepped up and had a couple of losses on his record. All he does is talk. Ran from Eubank rematch and ran from anyone good.

I hope the same but will never happen - that's why boxing promoters are still in business making money. Look at how many Wilder fan-boys there were when the best fighter Wilder beat (Ortiz) was almost 40 and had hardly beat anyone good himself. Not saying Wilder isn't a good fighter but it isn't proven by his resume. You should always worry when that is the case. Instead people made excuses for him dodging legit challengers like Whyte and instead fighting heavy bags like Breazele
