  • Comments Thread For: Canelo On Ring Size: If Saunders Wants Entire Cowboys Stadium, I'll Give It To Him

ARLINGTON, Texas - Canelo Alvarez laughed when he was asked about Billy Joe Saunders' demand for a bigger ring. Alvarez gladly gave in when Saunders threatened to withdraw from their super middleweight title unification fight over the size of the ring in which they'll box Saturday night at AT&T Stadium. Promoter Eddie Hearn admitted he was surprised how quickly Alvarez agreed to use a bigger ring when Hearn approached him about the problem earlier this week.

It's a ruse, I think. Saunders isn't planning a Lara track meet, he is probably going to try and copy Mayweather, up close, make him miss and pay. A tall order, but I'm predicting those are his tactics, mixed in with some movement here and there.

My thoughts exactly I think he‘ll have to use his legs a bit more than Mayweather had to though.

all bs aside I could see BJS doing just enough to win but still losing on the cards for not being the aggressor. - that bs judges pull outta their ass whenever it’s convenient

That's made me envision the bell ringing, Saunders jumping out of the ring, running through the whole stadium shouting "Mexican beef! Mexican beef!" like Daffy Duck, and Alvarez calmly stalking him through the stands and corridors like the Terminator. Then they reach a dead end and it's oh dear, ***** boy! Where's his son to punch someone in the nadgers now?

Real one’s don’t react to that bs. Saunders knows he will lose so he’s trying everything in the book.
Wont work, good chance he’s going to sleep.

Canelo is going to seriously hurt Saunders regardless of ring size. Canelo knows how to take a punch and he is one of the fearless boxers of this era, he deserves to be inducted into the boxings hall of fame.

BJS wants a big ring to avoid punishment, that's the plan. He'll try to Lemule Canelo, hit and run and run and run. He'll stink so bad, even if he gets robbed, nobody will care, but there's a fly in your soup. The odds. They are so lopsided, the house will rake in a mint on an upset. An ugly BJS win and rematch is financially sound.

I’ve watched the Mayweather-Canelo fight a dozen times plus and I don’t understand the haters that keep harping on about Floyd “running”. Floyd was right in front of Canelo for 12 rounds.

That makes sense, plus Billy Joe has to know that Lara might have gotten the win if he had stood his ground a bit more.

Yeah people focus on the highlight of Floyd looking back at the ropes after Canelo swung and missed. Mayweather won that fight with sharp counters, not by “running”
