While there are arguments to be made in either direction no one denies that he is great. Your language is indicative of a casual who exudes hatred towards a public figure you’ve never met personally. To call either a “B level fighter” further shows your bias and hatred of anything having to do with Canelo. Both are world champions and if that’s “B” level for you then there’s no helping you.Canelo is good but not close to great. His career defining fight is a loss to Floyd where he was washed. He became a bitch right after, with so many questionable deeds, including blaming the Mexican cows for his drug use, and debilitating opponents with weight clauses. Nobody forgets 155. People remember.
Two B fighters fighting on Saturday.Comment

Dominance against an era elite competition is rare that’s why decisions more times than not are found in equally matched opponents with your occasional drummings. He is already HOF and is a division unification from ATG. No hemming and hawing will change that fact nor reality.Comment

For anyone curious, here is the USA Today article this refers to with my top five: https://boxingjunkie.usatoday.com/20...tent=home-heroComment

You had GGG winning the first fight?I must be in a boxing idiot world (some call it a parallel world), but in my world, I don't regard Canelo close to anything great, and it will never be. Maybe only in Mexico. With Canelo, I see a B level fighter at most, with B+ being my highest ranking in the current environment. To me, Mexicans like Juan Estrada are much better than Canelo, much, much better. Estrada is one of the rare ones I can give an A-.Comment

He is an outstanding fighter with a granite chin, and his career defining victory was over Golovkin in the rematch. The wins against Cotto and Lara were a bit iffy, just about edged it, depending on your view.
He'd have to beat Saunders, Plant, Charlo, Benavidez and perhaps one of Beterbiev or Bivol to be up there in a discussion of is he considered as great or better than Chavez.Comment

Without social media and just the Ring to gauge who is great who is or should be considered the best at what he does in the ring EHHHH I look at a fighter as someone who I go back and watch again not to learn more but just the way the man fought, or fights he had or has that something extra in the ring that makes others want to see it again and again. It is not there with Saul, but if everyone else thinks dif that is fine. Not a popularity contest when it comes to the fight game not with me. There have been other fighters who were well liked that I did not enjoy watching as much as others. No big deal. What I look for in a fighter could be way dif then someone else.Comment

If Canelo had beaten Mayweather, he would of surpassed both Chavez and Sanchez and been the GOAT of Mexican boxing.Comment
