Both boxers made weight for their scheduled 10-round regional junior lightweight title fight, which airs live on Telemundo in front of a sellout crowd at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida. Puerto Rico's Rosa weighed right at the 130-pound divisional limit, while Acosta--a Mexican-American prospect from Whittier, California--weighed 129 pounds.
