Technically speaking, how does BJS “outbox” Canelo? Do fans know how to gauge point-technique?

Whatever BJS throws, he’s going to get tagged back. That’s points for Canelo right derrr.

Using angles and not fighting in straight lines.

The majority of Canelo’s opponents fight in straight lines and if you do that is the best in the world at fighting against that style.

Canelo hasn’t got quick feet in terms of switching angle and if you have a good pivot and can fight off the centre line, you can take away his sharp counter punching, upper body movement and turn him. Leaving him a split second behind where he would usually be if the opponent was moving in straight lines.

No matter how much experience a fighter gets, There’s always going to be a style you have problems with, If you’re physically not built for it. A short and stocky fight like Canelo who has the slower feet in the fight will always have issues against a fighter with faster feet and angles. That’s why styles make fights, it’s not a cliche. You have to know where to move and not move for the sake of it and Saunders is really clever at that.

Another problem for Canelo fighting against the style is he doesn’t really have a high work rate either. He admires his work and picks his shots. Having extremely high work rate is the best way to try and deal with someone if you have the slower feet and movement.

You don’t run from Canelo, You fight off the centreline with angles but not near the ropes too much. he’s beatable for sure, judges aside.

Canelo is going to have problems in this fight. Keep this post in your mind and after two or three rounds you will understand what I’m saying.

Canelo is the same speed as 154-168. 168, Canelo is optimized and not draining as he did at 155…

current Canelo’s approach (style) let alone improved techniques is the same way Floyd changed styles from PBF to Money May

        i predict a knock out

Canelo has only ever knocked out washed up fighters like Kovalev that had lost 2 of his last 4 before that by stoppage or guys that get stopped easily. His other stoppages were people like Fielding that previously got stopped in 1 round by Smith. Kirkland who previously got stopped in 1 round by a Japanese journeyman Ishida. Khan who couldn’t even take a punch at lightweight. Yildirim who was stopped quicker by Eubank. Any time Canelo has fought a good level fighter who isn’t washed up and hasn’t been knocked out easily before, he never drops them or barely puts a dent in them.

          he won’t stop Saunders

Saunders beats him by 10-2, maybe 9-3.

it’ll be so wide that even the judges will have to score it 7-5 Billy. I’m sure one might score a card for Canelo or give him a 114-114 card

he may have adapted his style, like Floyd did. But he ain’t built like Floyd. Canelo with his body type and feet is still always going to have problems with intelligent movers. It is what it is.

Floyd adapted his style and his ring IQ improved but still had problems with a higher pressure style like Maidana later, and Castillo previously.

Manny got better and better but still struggled with counter punchers.

It’s boxing, There’s just some styles every fighter has problems with, just naturally. Canelo isn’t built to have an easy night with intelligent movement. His feet aren’t quick enough for that.

We’ll see, don’t be a coward on Saturday

all good fun though, this is what it’s about isn’t it? believing in your fighter and having some back and forth. Makes fight week more exciting.

Honestly though, I really like watching Canelo fight, I just think he’s about to run into a style and fighter that gives him fits. I know how good Saunders is and the world will see it on Saturday. It’ll be a great fight for sure.

don’t worry though, it’ll only take you 5 mins to make a new account.
