Did Bob Arum sacrificed Pacquiao to keep Cotto?

Did Bob Arum sacrificed Pacquiao to keep Cotto?

Slippery Bob outsmarted his own fighters again. He kept Cotto by making sure Manny accept the fight at 145.

He manipulated Manny into accepting the fight at 145 for a bigger purse.

    Manny lose, Arum wins.

    Cotto lose, Arum wins.

    Manny wins, Arum wins.

    Cotto wins, Arum wins.

In any scenario, Slippery Bob runs to the bank and cashes in.

Hatton was so much stronger than Pacquiao. Cotto will even be stronger than Manny.

Cotto is not Hatton, Cotto is a lot better than Hatton, and stronger, and bigger, and not one dimensional like Hatton.

BLAME SLIPPERY BOB IF MANNY LOSES OR GETS HURT.

Everyone is thinking that Pacquiao's speed will negate Cotto's superior strenght an size.

Cotto was faster and a much better boxer against a bigger and slower Margarito. Cotto/Pacquiao is very similar to Cotto/Margarito. Look at what happened to the smaller, faster, and much better boxer.

You could also make the case that Arum wants Cotto to suffer for talking **** about him during the Margarito scandal.

I don't believe any of that honestly. Both carry 2 huge fanbases and losing either of them is bad for him. Arum is in control of the Ph. and PR market. The best way he could bank if by having both of them go at it rather than have 1 from his company and another from another company and risk his losing. He doesn't want to negotiate with Floyd which puts that fight at a problem, and there's not many other opponents out there for Manny that would give him good $$$ in his weight class. I think after Cotto, win or lose Manny should break off from Arum, attempt a fight with Floyd or 3rd with Marquez, get it or not, and retire. Nothing left to prove.

The article makes it sound like it's some shady **** Arum is pulling. ****, that's every promoters dream. If the company can keep it all in-house then he has met his ultimate goal.

For example, the promotional giant, UFC!!

****, PAC sat ringside for the Cotto fight, he got a really good view of what Cotto can/cannot do in a high-pressure fight. PAC is old enough to determine what types of risks he's getting himself in.

At the end of the day, a loss is a loss, but a 20 or 40 million dollar payday does not come around that often!

He might also think Cotto is there for the taking and he'd like to see Pac do it. But I think it was all about money for Bob. His two biggest earners in a huge fight against each other.
