i watched mcclellan-benn and heard what watt said about "mcclellan doesnt have heart" blah blah blah..and after finding out what happened to mcclellan at the end of the fight and how he lives now really pissed me off even more at jim watt..never could stand him anyway but that was the icing on the cake

I watched the fight live with the Watt broadcast. I guess Jim, like the rest of us had no idea what was really happening inside Gerald's brain. All we knew was that he was blinking alot and sticking his gum shield out a fair bit. A round or so earlier Gerald had took a knee after receiving a head butt, it could have looked like he was looking to the ref for help.
Jim probably thought that when he went to one knee in round 10 that he was doing more of the same because at the count of 10 he stood up and walked to his corner. There had been no decisive knockout blow remember! It was only when we saw the scenes of him straining in his corner that the reality dawned that he was possibly seriously ill.
We all thought that McClellan would win, no one could have predicted the tragic ending. Jim Watt just reported what he thought he saw. In hindsight he was wrong, but he didn't know this.
Miguel Cotto has received some grief for quitting after taking some serious punishment from Margarito. I wonder how many of his critics would now be singing his praises should he have been striken with McClellan's plight. -
