We’re almost halfway through the year.
There haven’t been many meaningful fights at all.
The biggest fight so far involved a YouTube star and an MMA guy.
We’re about to get treated to a joke heavyweight PPV and a Canelo fight where he’s facing a 6-to-1 underdog.
We’re still waiting for announcements from most of the major boxing stars on their next moves. That means most big fighters are coming back in the late summer or fall, if at all this year. We’re hoping those fights will be big fights but there aren’t any guarantees.
Most of the fights we know coming are exhibition fights featuring old men or YouTube stars.
The narrative that boxing would rebound hard in 2021 after covid was clearly wrong.
