Definitely still raw and good he got rounds in. Up until now he basically stopped a load of guys outside of the top 100 but it means nothing.

The good thing is that he never got carried away with the streak and always said he needs rounds, so that’s a good sign.

A bit harsh but rounds 5(!) -7 showed Edgar is a long way from world class. The power is there and he took a good shot in that final round but there are some monsters from 168-175 that’ll go rounds with him. Rozier has his work cut out for him to get him a legit strap at 168.

He definitely has a lot to work on but his power is going to have Hart hesitant and he will win enough rounds to win that fight. Berlanga doesn't go to the body at all which is a big problem for someone with his style. Rosado, Ellis, Hart etc would be good fights for him.

That's exactly what came to my mind breaking down how the fight went, the kid is a good fighter, he's got heavy hands, he does have some nice things in there but he can't be head hunting forever, sometimes headshots just won't do and that's when you need to invest to the body. Now the kid doesn't react very well coming backwards, another red flag on him.

Good thing he is still very young, has a lot of time to improve.

Edit: Adding onto what someone else said on this post, he doesn't have a solid inside game and he lacks uppercuts, but like I said he has a lot of time to improve so I'll just wait to see how he develops.

Now he understands that he needs to put punches together. Manage distance, create openings..basically the science. He may not have the pure one punch magic, but he could learn from watching Golovkin, Canelo, Benavidez, Ward, Haggler, Toney etc..

A Tommy Hearns jab could also do wonders since he's agile enough to unleash big shots even if his feet aren't set.

Agreed on both counts. He's the definition of up and down, no special effects. The first time I saw him I said on here this guy ain't going nowhere. Now I'm more sure of that.

A clear victory for Berlanga, but certainly somewhat exposed. Nobody will think he can beat Canelo or have a good chance against Benavidez after seeing that fight.

Still, it's part of his development and nobody knocks everybody out, as even greats like Marciano, Tyson, Foreman, Lewis and Hearns found out.
