Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will be paid record purses for heavyweights when they fight for all the titles in their division this summer. According to an ESPN.com report posted Saturday afternoon, the British heavyweights will split most of a site fee that'll exceed $150 million. The deal isn't finalized, but Fury and Joshua are expected to make approximately $75 million apiece for their highly anticipated showdown.

Eddie: Tyson! Anthony! Thanks for coming. there's good news and bad news, guys. The good news is you get to split the site fee and it's a gargantuan $150m. The bad news is I get a 30% cut of your cut.

Oh FFS when do we get ink on paper already?! Aside from the Mayweather/Pacquiao fiasco this has been the most frustrating negotiation and it certainly isn't Fury's fault. I don't think it was Joshua's either to be fair. It was a little pandemic and more to do with the cold feet of Saudi Arabia. I can't tell you how many times I read articles claiming Saudi is interested and negotiations begin but nothing ever happens.

That's a lot of money, more than Canelo makes, second only to Mayweather and Pacquiao, unless I'm mistaken.

Imagine that great heavyweights like Ali never got that kind of money, even adjusting for inflation and the value of a dollar back then. The Saudis sure bring the big money for these events.

A nice retirement package for Fury and Joshua.

Lol Canelo was never highest earning, but best marketing made it look that way.. hence why DAZN signed him and then reneged on the contract once they realised he was losing them money, he couldn't even cover the purse.

Whereas AJ gets the money up front from ppl willing to pay, a dream scenario for a Promoter.

WOWWWWWW!!! That is generational money. Top Boxing is at the top of the food chain among all sports. Fury and Joshua definitely the highest paid athletes right now right up there with Ronaldo and Messi. Canelo Alvarez is the third highest paid fighter in all of Combat Sports now.
