I think it's an interesting aside. We do call ourselves puerto rican, mostly, in my case, that was my father claiming all the **** I did right in my life was 'cause I'm PR. Get an A, PR. Get a job, PR, etc. That sort of thing. He strongly felt mainlanders were spoiled and did not know how to take advantage of American infrastructure so any time I did anything with in the system to get a head pops was like " That's because I came from the ****s and brought yer ass here, it's in you boy" Kinda deal.
I never considered it before, but, in fact, two people from Texas, born in Texas, by raised in Texas, by two families that were all Texan for as long as Texan is applicable to history. Those folks move to the FLA and have them a baby boy, he ain't Texan. He's another Florida Man.
That said, there's no such thing as a Texan surname. My last name gives away my ethnicity and causes people named **** like Brown and Smith to ask "What are you?" In that situation I can either lie or be puerto rican.
Mi nombre es Ramos y soy yo Latino.I speak very little, hopefully I did that right
Edit- For those curious, if pushed to choose one over the other, I am Floridian. Florida is home. Ponce is my forefather. Don't rightly give as much ****s as most americans for guys like Jefferson.
My favorite Pres is Jackson. He did a lot, but, he also made Florida a state. Word to yer moms. Ponce + Andy = GatorcountryLast edited by Marchegiano; 04-25-2021, 09:31 AM.Comment

This would be even clearer to see if the Texas couple had to move to California for some reason.Comment
